Hi everyone!

My friend is moving to the Boston area and is looking for housing. Here are her requirements, quoted from her LJ:

-Less than $900 a month including utilities or $800 a month without utilities
-Accessible by public transportation (I like T better than bus, but bus is fine)
-Sanitary and does not violate building codes too flagrantly
-Respectful, non-smoking housemates

She is OK living with animals. She is a cool, very geeky person. Her LJ is [livejournal.com profile] etotheipi.

Does anyone have any leads? If you do, please contact me and I'll forward it on to her.

Thanks!

I'm moving to Europe on Monday and need to get rid of my car. It's a 1998 Mazda Protege. It gets excellent gas mileage and runs great. We just drove it cross country and back over the past two months. It's recently had about $2000 worth of work done it (brakes and belts and a tune up and stuff before the trip--I've got the detailed garage reciept).

We're selling cheap because it's last minute and also because the car needs a new catalytic converter. This repair will cost about $1400. The broken converter doesn't stop the car from working perfectly, but the car won't pass inspection without it.

The car has just a bit over 100,000 miles on it. We'd like to get $1000 for it. Call me at (617) 803-1098 to set up an appointment to have a look at it.

I wanted to get some opinions from neighbors on the new Soleil Cafe. Have you tried it out yet? I walk by every day 2-3x a day with my dogs so I have been keeping an eye on it somewhat. The first few nights there was nobody there, but I would say in the last week it is doing better than I ever saw the older management do.

Every night I see people sitting inside enjoying coffee and pastries. I know personally I am trying to stop myself from going there because I cant eat a fancy dessert every night unless I wanna gain weight! Its hard to not go in because the few things I have tried were delicious. I sampled the gelato and that was yummy as well.

I don't know if the staff is the same during the day that is there at night...but the couple of people I talk to at night are super friendly. Last night I was buying something and I said its bad that I live so close because I can't not get something while laughing and the man was very interested in my opinion overall since I am a neighbor.

The one thing I would change is that their are no small signs explaining what each pastry is so you have to ask what each one is. This isn't so bad if they aren't busy but when there is a line it is harder.

So it seems like there are loads of bookish people around here- so what are you all reading?

I find myself at the end o' Summer wanting some lay-in-the-park reading but after haunting the bookstore and the stacks at the library, nothing jumped out at me. Decided to reread "The Order of the Phoenix" and the librarian suggested that 'Golden Compass" series by Pullman. So aside from what you are reading now, if you have a fav author/series (can be anywhere on the scale of [trash <----> literature]) I'd be interested in hearing of it.

So I'm skeptical, but looking to try Yoga out. Two of my sisters swear by it, and it seems interesting enough. So pretty much I am looking for info, or assurances of yoga studios near Davis. I am unsure of the terminology but a "normal" begining style is certainly for me, not sure of this O2 style and such. I have extra time now and I'm open minded, just not informed.
