police action on Linear Park near Thorndike St?

Around 11:30 last night (Sunday), hahathor and I were about to walk out of Seven Hills Park onto the Linear Park path, when a Somerville police car came speeding out of Buena Vista Road and turned right through the gate onto the path. The car stopped shortly afterwards. We then heard the words "Put your hands up!" coming from somewhere to the right of the path, probably a yard or house on Thorndike.

We decided it might not be a good idea to continue walking that direction, and headed for Meacham Road instead. Anyone know what this was all about?

Potential food poisoning alert.

My roomate got home and started vomiting. It looks like food poisoning, though he has not called a doctor. He had Eggs Benedict at Soundbites in Ball Sq for lunch. Any other cases of food poisoning there? We like the place, but obviously we'll stay away for a while.
