old car repair

Has anyone here gotten car repairs at Teele Square Auto on Broadway (across from Guru)? If so, how was it?
I have an old clunker and am looking for an honest, competent mechanic who won't rip me off. Would like to stay in Davis/Teele/East Arlington area if possible. I checked tags but most recent car posts are about street sweeping. Thanks!
ETA: Thanks for all your great feedback. I took the car to Eli at Teele Square Auto. They quoted me less than $200 for a repair another mechanic in town quoted at nearly $900 (with scare tactics). No screwing around here. The dudes are friendly, honest, and fast. Two thumbs up!

I've finally decided to get my laptop fixed, so who can you recommend for fixing a almost 6-year-old laptop (IBM T40) with a 'fan error'? I've heard good things about Microcenter...any corroborating stories? Any other suggestions? Thanks!
T-accessible is nice, but not 100% necessary (as in Microcenter is a little far, but not impossible).

both tv stands have been taken. thanks!
need a tv stand? my husband just put two different stands out on the sidewalk in front of 85 winthrop st near tufts (just past the danish pastry house). both are faux-oak particle board from target, but both are in good condition and can comfortably fit a 20" tube tv. first come, first serve.
* the bigger one has a shelf below the surface where you'd put the tv, and then a set of double doors below to stash your wii or whatever. on wheels.
* the smaller one is just a tv surface with another shelf below. on wheels.
thanks!
