From the NOAA: current conditions at Logan- winds out of the NNW (330 degrees) at 14 knots, gusting to 22 knots.

This means.... duh duh DUUUUHHHHH.... planes will be taking off over Somerville and surely the Apocalypse is to follow and it's just one more way The Man is stickin' it to Somerville.

So blogging is now renowned as a great method of networking for work.

I'm curious if any folks on LJ or their respective friends, colleagues, or landlords are looking for part-time rental agents. Or may be able to recommend local agencies that have good reputations.

I will be a licensed salesperson by May and wanted to start my job search now. I've already compiled a list of opportunities from Craigslist and Monster, etc. and am looking for more possible position openings through word-of-mouth (or type-of-hand I suppose).

Thanks,

Hi all,

I found a set of keys at Liberty and Foskett today. At first I thought "Oh cool, I can post to davis_square and the person who dropped them can get them back. That's better than leaving them in the road." Now that I'm at work, I've remembered that most people actually don't use LiveJournal. Assuming no one responds here, what's the right place to bring them? Police station? T stop? Something else? They have a Shaw's card and a CVS card on them --- would one of those institutions be able to reunite the keys with their owner?

Thanks!

EDIT: Rough consensus seems to be that posting to craigslist and then bringing them to the police can't be wrong, while CVS/Shaw's could be right or wrong. I've posted to craigslist (http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/laf/1071528951.html) and will deliver them to the police station as soon as I can, which might be tomorrow evening. I like the sign on a post idea too --- thanks, all!

Hi folks,

Everyone over at the Somerville Theatre would like to thank everyone who lives in Davis Square for putting up with all the traffic and crowds over the last week because of the sneak U2 show.  It was only officially confirmed to us a few days before the 11th and we were sworn to secrecy (and even we thought they might have been playing venues off of each other and not telling us the truth until they actually showed up with equipment.)

Anyhow, I know it impacted peoples commutes and so forth and I appreciate that as I too live here.  I am grateful to the neighborhood and to Mayor Curtatone, Chief Kelleher of the SFD, and especially Chief Holloway at SPD for showing we are a world-class city.

So to give back somewhat to y'all, and especially for those U2 fans who, like most everyone I am related to or friends with, couldn't get into the show, we will be playing "U2: Rattle and Hum" on the big screen on Thursday March 26, and if you live in Somerville admission is free! (So long as we don't run out of seats, but we'll show it a few times that day and who knows how many will actually go.)

Just bring your ID or a cable bill or something similar that has been thru the mail with your name and Somerville address on it and we'll give you a free ticket to that film that day!  Tickets will be on sale for non-Somervillians at $8.00 (sorry Cambridge! hehe.)

We'll be putting out a small press release later about it.

I know it's not as cool as seeing U2 live, but we thought it would be fun for the square!
