I know this is a bad time to try to get any kind of funding or grant for arts/literary endeavors, but I'm still hoping to find out some more information about local resources that offer any kind of financial support to artists, especially for writers. I browsed the SAC website and will write to them for pointers, but I was wondering in the meantime if anyone knows of other local funding sources to which I could apply for financial assistance so I can work less and write more, if only for a little while. I'm open to all sorts of suggestions (though I would prefer to stay here in Somerville rather than go to an off-site fellowship). I have excellent credentials and could quickly put together a good application.

Alternately, if you have pointers on any kind of arts-related resources (grants, microloans, donors, whatever) and would be willing to let me pick your brain over email or coffee, that would be fantastic, and you should please message me or comment if you'd like me to message you.

Thanks!

Hey [livejournal.com profile] davis_square, help me out and pass on the word. I've got a room available for the summer (as early as the weekend of May 15, though June 1 is fine too, and up through August 31) on Highland Ave, 10 minutes walk from both Porter and Davis. It's a great 2br apartment in a building with laundry, elevator, dishwasher, A/C in the apartment (score for summer!), free heat, and I pay for the cable and internet! (Bigger bedroom, so I've gotta make it fair somehow.)

The apartment is furnished and the bedroom can be too (bed, bookcase, desk), though I can get rid of the furniture if you want to bring your own. Rent is $692.50/mo and a security deposit of half of that would be returnable upon moveout. Though I will 80% sure be moving out in September, if you're looking for next year, too, it should be very easy to sign the lease over to you!

I'm a full-time Harvard employee in my 20s, non-smoker, busy and pretty quiet except for occasional bursts of applause while watching Sox games :) Two cats live here so cat-friendly is a must, and they would probably be willing to welcome one more for the summer.

Please see my craigslist ad for pictures and further details, and feel free to comment here or email me at daphne dot mazuz at gmail dot com for more info.

I had considered selling these on Craigslist, but considering their very low value, the effort does not seem worth the (small) reward.

I have a Philips Magnavox 20" CRT color cable ready television with remote and a JVC XV-523 DVD player. Both are old, but in apparently fully working order. These items are as is. Pickup is at the corner of Boston Avenue and Prichard Ave.

If no one messages me, these will be going to the street for trash pickup tomorrow.

If you have an old but working fax machine you want to get rid of, I would certainly appreciate the trade.

Only this time, it's the Phone Car.

This is actually pretty funny. I do like the woman's justification that the Phone Car was a tourist attraction, and therefore it was OK to sit on it.
