HONK! is coming again this fall OCT 9-11 for it's biggest iteration yet! but in order for it to be a success, we need your help!

Please join us next Thursday at the HONK! Community Meeting, May 28th 7:00-8:30 PM at the West Branch Library in Davis Square. This meeting is a great way to learn about this year's festival and find out what little (or big!) things you can do to help out.

HONK! is community-driven action, and that means we need your help. The local love and support of our festival continues to grow, and we're certain that with your help, this year's festival will be the best yet.

Among other things, we need folks who are available before and during the festival to:
- promote the weekend's events
- make sure bands get where they're going
- house musicians
- feed, transport, wrangle, inform, collect donations and so much more!

This year is going to be a wonderful combination of the HONK! veterans you know and love, and exciting new bands coming to HONK! for the first time. there's an all women's band from New Orleans, bands from Italy and Amsterdam, new friends we made at HONK! West in Seattle, and some of your local favorites too. ;)

For HONK! updates visit http://www.honkfest.org

Please join us and be a part of this amazing experience! Hope to see you May 28th!

My husband found an important piece of his ID on the way to work.  If we don't find him, we'll drop it off at the police station tonight. If you do know him, leave a message and I'll follow up.  I don't have access to e-mail at work.

Does anyone know where I can find sausage casings?
I'd prefer synthetic, but any would be useful at this point..

I'm going to need a fair amount.

Thanks!

A couple weeks ago, I had a really strange reaction to a dosage change in an antidepressant, and I'm still suffering the effects of it. My doctor doesn't know why this happened or how to fix it. I don't know if this is something that a good doctor *should* know how to deal with or if I really am in a peculiar situation and my doctor's doing the right thing.

I'd like to find a psychiatrist/psychopharmacologist that will just listen to this particular situation and give a second opinion. I don't want to change doctors unless it turns out that another doctor is better equipped to deal with this situation, so, understandably, I'd rather avoid the intake process with another physician. I don't know if this conflicts with medical ethics or not, but I figured it was worth a try. Does anybody have ideas on how I can run what's happening by another pdoc? Even if somebody here happens to be one or be friends with one, that would be a huge help and for legal purposes, I would realize it's not actually medical advice.

Thanks for any ideas.

(btw--any chance of a mental health tag getting added?)

A few times a month I like to go to the Green Tomato for lunch. I think they do a very good job at offing Davis Square diners a good inexpensive alternative /addition to the other restaurants. If you have not given them a try, I would recommend it.

I'm posting this because I get the feeling that they could REALLY use more business and I am hoping they stick around!

I'm posting an open letter (with photos) that I sent to Somerville Aldermen, Mayor and Police Department in regard to unleashed dogs on the Somerville Path, and most recently, inside of Lexington Park.  Those living on or near the path know that almost every afternoon there is a horde of unleashed pets there, despite that a designated off-leash park is only a mile away.

This is the second sighting of what I believe to be the same turkey hen in our backyard near the intersection of Prichard Avenue and Boston Avenue in Somerville; 0.6mi straight line distance ENE from Davis Square.

I do not know if anyone else here has seen (animal) turkeys in the neighborhood. Personally, I was surprised to see one in a place with so many outdoor cats and dogs and so much commotion.

It was moving freely from yard to yard by flying over the fences, and pecking at and bathing in the dirt. When I saw it today, it seemed much bolder and more indifferent to human activity than when I saw it two weeks ago.

It was not on a leash.
