Join the Somerville Bicycle Committee for our 17th annual fall Tour de Somerville. This year's theme is "Somerville: City of Seven (Or More) Hills".

We'll meet on Saturday, October 17 at 10 am at Seven Hills Park (behind the Holland Street T entrance in Davis Square), leaving promptly at 10:15.

Our ride will be approximately 11 miles, and visit each of Somerville's hills, both those that still exist and those that have been removed. Riders should wear helmets and be prepared for hill climbs and descents. We will make brief stops at the tops of most hills so that riders stay together as a group, but we won't have extended history lectures or speeches.

The Somerville Police will escort the ride on bicycles, and Redbones will provide refreshments at the halfway point.

For more info (and a list of hills), visit http://somervillebikes.org/events.html .
A route map is at http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/312795 , and a cue sheet at http://www.bikely.com/cuesheet/route/312795 .

If it rains, we'll try again the next day, same time and location.

anyone know of a place that does same-day steam cleaning for clothes? (these would be fancy wedding clothes for the mother and father of the bride, flying in from out of town...)

ideally this place would be in east arlington or davis square, but any suggestions would be welcome at this point. thanks!

I went online to get guest parking passes for a party I am having. I was given a ticket number, but didn't hear anything. When I called 311 I was told that I had to go to the parking clerk to get the passes because they do not process the passes online. When I went to the parking clerk they didn't have any info on my online transaction and had me fill out paperwork there. No biggie and no real extra time investment, but just wondering why they have the form online if you can't actually use it. Is it in its early stages or something and they are planning to let you use the online forms in the future? Are there any plans to let you download the passes from their website in the future? Is this common with other city online forms?

Not complaining, just want to know what the status is for future use.

Hello,

I am new to the neighborhood.  I have been hearing that to get our walkway and driveway shoveled, we need to set up a contract with someone in advance.  Can anyone explain how this works?  We are in a three-family with a two car tandem driveway and a front entrance.

Thank you,

DSF
