Hi everyone!
You may remember me from a few months ago, looking for a PCP. I found one I like, but she's at Harvard Vanguard, and so far the specialists there = not so much.

So I'm wondering, does anybody know of a gastroenterologist in the area to help me out with a chronic inflammation/nausea/acid reflux problem? I'd like to find someone who won't just put me on a bunch of pills, but also help me fix my diet and such so that I know what to eat and what not to eat in order to temper the condition.

I'm debating just going to a nutritionist (rec's are welcome!), but I wonder if I can find a doctor who sort of does both (i.e., procedures, prescriptions, etc., but also concerned about nutrition, etc.)??

Thanks in advance for any suggestions, and I hope I get to come a meet up sometime soon!

Not specific to Davis obviously, but thought I could find some interesting opinions. I recently went to buy a gift card online, and noticed they were charging me 5% MA sales tax. That makes sense for any other purchase because the vender did have MA stores, however it seems odd to charge for a gift card right?

I'm fairly certain that everytime I've used a giftcard, I have also paid sales tax on the item purchased, so that means if you pay tax on a gift card, then pay tax again on the item you buy with that gift card, you are paying taxes twice for the same money....

Do all stores charge tax on gift cards? Does this make sense? It doesn't to me.

Just in time for the holidays! Take advantage of sales to get even more for your money. Or re-gift 'em to other people who'll never know you cheaped out.

I have a $75 gift card to J. Crew and a $100 gift card for Ann Taylor/Ann Taylor Loft/etc (both are good online or off) that I can sell for 10% off (or best offer).

ETA: Both cards have been sold. Thanks all!

The past couple of mornings I noticed that the little snack shop inside the subway entrance on College Ave was closed when I went through at around 8:30. It's usually open at that time of day. Anyone know what's up with that? Just curious really.

According to the Somerville Journal, the next thing the city is trying to get approved is a standard $150 first offense fine for non shoveling within 12 hours of a storm, 4 hours for businesses. This is up from $25 and 12 hours for both residents and businesses. Repeat offense will be $300. Probably the biggest part of this is they are looking to have it enforced by the people who write the parking tickets, currently it is the city's Inspectional Services dept. who write the tickets.

I'm looking for a recommendation for someone to come out and take a look at our natural gas boiler. There appears to be a small leak. The repair service that was recommended by the previous owners charged an hourly rate, plus parts, and started billing the hourly rate once they leave the previous job. So, if you're the last call of the day, and the repairman gets stuck in traffic, you pay for the traffic time.

So, any heating repair recommendations?
