The annual Squeezebox Slam is Saturday June 15th! The concert is in Seven Hills Park behind the Holland St T:
3:00 Greek accordionist Sandy Theodorou
3:30 Ralph Tufo from the Squeezebox Stompers.
4:00 Marié Abe Sextet (featuring members of Debo Band)
4:30 New England's stellar virtuoso Cory Pesaturo.
5:00 Grand Fatilla featuring Roberto Cassan

Before the concert from 1-3 pm, local musicians are invited to bring their accordions and play in the parks and public spaces in Davis Square! You are welcome to play alone or join in groups.

Boston Philharmonic Funk Foundation - 5/26, 7:30pm, Armory

Hi, all! I wanted to share a (rather quickly) upcoming event that promises to be a lot of fun, if our rehearsals so far have been any indication! (Look for me; I'll be the brown violinist. :) )

The Philharmonic Funk Foundation is a soul, disco and funk machine that consists of 44 people. With a rhythm section, a full string orchestra and all the horns and winds you can think of, it has everything needed to perform even the most heavily orchestrated disco hits and soul ballads live for you. The original Dutch orchestra has performed on all the big stages and festivals in the Netherlands, and now, the Boston branch is excited to have you here for their first performance.

Owners winning awards for work on their properties will be presented original art or AUTOCAD drawings created by Somerville High School students in the Art Department or in the Drafting and Pre-Engineering Program. The Awards Ceremony is preceded by a reception with light food and drinks. All are welcome to attend.

Boloco Tufts Has Closed

Not as much fanfare as when they closed the Davis Sq. location, but it looks like Boloco has closed their Medford location. Not having much luck with burritos in this neck of the woods, I suppose.
