I've taken control, and fallen behind. Here I say let us gather this Saturday and discuss options and ideas. Let's all brainstorm together, and see who is really interested; maybe form a more formal group of people to carry this forward.

I hereby call to order the first meeting of the Somerville Community Path Esplanade (SCoPE) this Saturday at 2pm, in the Someday Cafe, Davis Square.

Many thanks!

I just sent the following to the Middlesex Bank. I also e-mailed Rebekah about it. Does anyone else ever notice this trend on the marquee but me? It's annoying and depressing.

For about a week now I've been seeing a lovely half-grown kitten in and around Broadway near the Bay State and Lowden intersections, and up and down both streets. It appears to be female (or possibly an early-neutered male), gray/brown striped, slinky build, no collar, very friendly and not afraid of people. I've pet the kitten and have seen others doing so. It's slim but doesn't appear to be starving. It might be somebody's outdoor cat, but I'm concerned because I've seen it poised to dash out onto Broadway, which is not a good thing.

So I thought I'd post here to see if anyone is missing their cat or has seen a lost pet poster matching the above discription. The kitty is at large and appears healthy and safe, but it would be safer at home, wherever home is!

...so did we all get the phone alert about break-ins in the Porter Sq. area?

It sounded creepy and unfortunate for the two residences that were broken into but I'm not sure I am the better for knowing about it. Locking your doors (mmm... mine is currently not) is SOP in the city if one is concerned about this stuff.

I think this is the 4th or 5th phone alert I have had in the last couple of weeks. (parking, heat, crime). I haven't looked yet but does anyone know if there is an opt-out option that is not going to take me 20 minutes to navigate?

I'm not sure I will opt out but if it starts to get tedious, I will.
