My girlfriend had the light on her bike stolen last night on Pearson Ave.
I think this is the first bike-related theft to happen in a while,
according to our across the street neighbor.

Just in case you weren't already keeping a close eye on your bicycles!

hello davis square peeps,

i've posted a couple of times before re: housing and y'all were nice enough to give lots of good advice.  now that i found a place in east arlington (not quite davis sq. but just a 15 min walk away), i'd like to return the favor to anyone else who is moving by offering a slew of boxes that we used to move.  i'd say somewhere b/w 50-80, including sweet "wardrobes" that make moving closets a dream.  all boxes will be in like-new condition and will be available after sept 9th.  if interested, please email me at apozniak AT gmail DOT com

thanks!

Will Somerville trash pickup take a queen-size box spring? If not, what are my options? I do have a spiffy new circular saw I got at Home Despot this week...maybe I should reduce it in size a bit?

Just curious, but does anyone know the hours worked by those dedicated foot soldiers who serve the Somerville Department of Traffic & Parking, fanning out over our fair city, their handheld modules spitting out parking tickets to the point of smoking mechanical failure.

I ask because have seen these people out and cracking down on transgressors even after 10pm. I repeat, AFTER 10PM! I have also seen them lurking about before 8am. Is there a graveyard shift we need to know about?

[To be honest, I genuinely feel bad for these folks- there are few jobs out there where the general public meets your mere appearance with frantic, paranoid Where-Am-I-Parked? mental checklists and hostile glances.]

Hi folks,

I've created a Porter Square community. If you're interested, it's at [livejournal.com profile] porter_square. It's pretty bare bones right now, hopefully it will prove to be of help to many of you.

A guest of mine got a ticket marked "out of area" for parking half a block from my house. So, I'm writing to contest the ticket, and one thing I note is that I can't find documentation anywhere about what area a guest permit marked "district C" actually covers. My google fu has failed me. Any suggestions?
