The Thursday Night backyard movie that was to be held in the alley of Willoughby and Baltic has been moved to the parking lot of Boloco (next door) on Elm Street in Davis Square. This week's movie is scheduled to be a collection by the Brother's Quay.

Come to Willoughby and Baltic from 6-8 pm for the opening reception of the latest show of prints collected by Thomas Prince. Meet our new curator and find out about our exciting plans for the summer, including outdoor music, puppets, films, art exhibits, and much more. We also have coupons for deals from Boloco, Benjapon's and Subway. Head over to Boloco at sundown (around 8:30) for the movies.

You are welcome to bring your own lawn chairs, etc. We will have some seating available, but you might want to bring your own. Boloco will be open until at least 10 o'clock  if you are hungry.

We are always on the lookout for musical acts to perform before the movies on Thursdays, so if you are interested, drop us an email at infoATwilloughbybalticDOTcom.

We will announce next week's movie at the conclusion of this week's film.

Willoughby and Baltic would like to thank Sal at Boloco, Benjapon at Benjapon's and Sunil at Subway for their continued support.

In the event of rain, this film will be postponed one week.

Although this isn't a strictly Davis-oriented question, I would expect that others are in the same boat as I...the tiny window boat. Has anyone ever purchased an air conditioner for a window that's only 19 or so inches wide? The smallest air conditioner that I can find is 17 inches wide, but requires at least 21 inches of window. If anyone can steer me in the right direction, I'd be most grateful. If there is a local place to buy said air conditioner, that's even better!

**ETA Thank you, everyone!

I saw that a cupcake shop was opening off the beaten path of the square, (where comicaz and magpie use to be)

Has anyone heard of when the grand opening date is?

We're currently looking to fill a room in our beautiful 5-bedroom, 2-bathroom single family house in Davis Square (Somerville, Massachusetts - Boston metro area). The move-in date is July 1. Rent is $675 for the largest bedroom in the house, 12'9" x 12'4", which has beautiful hardwood floors and a bay window.

About us:

We are 2 girls and 2 guys in our late 20s and 30s. We work as a Web developer/founder, book writer/editor, 3D computer graphics instructor/professional, and study abroad admissions rep. We like our home to have a fun, relaxing community atmosphere, so we each take turns cooking dinner once a week and enjoy having friends over for casual dinner parties. Two of us are vegetarians, so we'd need a housemate who would be ok with providing a vegetarian option when cooking. One of us is a raging carnivore, so it doesn't have to be all veggie all the time.

About the house:

It's beautiful and super convenient! It's about 1 block from the center of Davis Square and the Davis Square T stop on the Red Line, although on a small, quiet street. The house is three stories, and there are three rooms on the second floor and two rooms on the third floor. (Room for rent is on the second floor.)

We have a small back yard, part of which we use to grow veggies in, as well as a front and back porch. There's a free washer and dryer in the basement. The house has a nice bay window in the living room and is all hardwood floors. The living room, dining room, and kitchen are all large, and the kitchen has a dishwasher, gas stove, and new fridge. Nearby streets have plenty of parking, as does the large, metered parking lot at the end of the block.

Our last roommates had a dog, so we are pet friendly (dogs or cats). There is ample storage space in the basement, and we also have room for both living room and dining room furniture on the first floor.

About you:

We'd prefer to have a nonsmoking housemate in his or her 20s or 30s. We're looking for a friendly person who can agree to cook a meal for the house once a week.

Does anyone know if movies in the park are happening this summer? I googled around but didn't find anything except an announcement for 2004's movie schedule. Maybe they just haven't announced it yet...?

Hi, I'm looking for a new primary care physician. I had one I really liked at Harvard Vanguard, but sadly, she passed on about a year ago. I'm not particularly satisfied with the new one. I'm on Tufts Health Insurance, and have a PPO plan, but would prefer someone in their network. Ideally, my doctor would be in or around Davis Square, but any place reasonably accessible from here by T or bike would be OK. I'm generally healthy, and don't have any specific needs, although I have a slight preference for a woman and a strong preference for someone who can talk to me about medical & science related things without talking down to me.

Has anyone else noticed an increase in airplane traffic over Davis Square over the last 6 months?  We were just out on our deck having dinner (Day St and Orchard St) and it seemed like there was an airplane passing overhead (literally) every 2-3 minutes (no joke).  Worse, they made so much noise that it was constantly interrupting us.  I know the airplanes have to fly somewhere but it seems like Davis Square has become one of the major flight paths and I don't remember this being a problem last year.  Who should I complain to?
