I'm volunteering for a non-profit music festival by hanging up posters in Cambridge and maybe Boston as well. Its a 4-day (Thur-Sun) ordeal in update NY focused on folk, jam, reggae, world, etc. music with a definite hippie feel to it.

What I'm looking for is suggestions for locations in the area that would be good to hanging a poster for this kind of event. My first thoughts were coffee shops and music venues but bring on any other general or specific ideas.

Here is the link to the festival for those interested: http://www.grassrootsfest.org/trumansburg/

Does anyone know of a walk-in health clinic in the Davis area or anywhere reasonably near? Car- or T-accessible, must have a person who can write out a prescription. Free is good, but not absolutely necessary. Ideally, would accept Private HealthCare Services; but again, not having to wait a month to see a doctor for a Rx refill is key.

The Cambridge Health Alliance hasn't yielded much, most people are telling me to go to an emergency room. That remains as a last option, but I'd like to avoid it if possible.

Many thanks!

I know there's some simple process for getting a visitor parking tag, but my memory of it is lost in the echoing corridors of time. Now I have a reason to need one, since my boyfriend has collected all the parking tickets he'd wanted.

I seem to recall the process involving $1 and a visit to an office somewhere in Davis...

(I'll put this thread in community memories so we all know where it is.)

Hi DSers,
I am interested in couples ballroom dance lessons. A friend and a couple-friend of mine would like to take lessons together. Know of anywhere good? I have already checked out the Dance Complex and it isn't exactly what I am looking for.

We would go private if we have to - but we need to keep the cost down.
Thoughts?

This doesn't seem to have come up recently so I thought I would ask. My bike got stolen while I was at work today. Sob story yes, but it was probably a bit to much bike for me anyway and I'm not terribly surprised it got stolen.

I'd like to get another bike that is a bit more appropriate to what I'm going to do with it. Mainly 1) daily commute (~8miles) and 2) bike the Minuteman 1-2 times a week. I'd also like something I'm not overly concerned with getting stolen so a used bike is preferable to a new bike. I was wondering if anyone had experience with Bikes not Bombs or could recommend another good place to get used bikes in the area? Bonus points for intro reasonably priced bike maintenance classes.
