Hi Everyone,

A friend of mine and I want to start walking after work/early evenings now that the weather is warmer, however we don't want to deal with all the crosswalks etc of just walking around Somerville. She lives in East Somerville and I live in Teele/Davis. One idea is to walk on the bike path out to the pond by alewife from Mass ave.

However, we also want a few other options in the area, does anyone know if Tufts or some school nearby has an outdoor track that people can use? Or any other suggestions.

May meet-up

Thanks to everyone that came out last night. It was a nice mix of meeting new people and seeing old friends (no, I'm not making an age joke).

We do need to decide a place for May, and I'm open for suggestions. There isn't many new places in Davis Square that might work for a larger group. Just informally talking to some people, here are some suggestions that people have mentioned. One is possibly have it in the lounge area of Sabur. Something that was also mentioned is Redbones.

We could also go back to PJ Ryans, they liked us and are willing to have us back there.

People generally want to stay in Davis Square, but I think bars very close to Davis (such as on Mass Ave) might be acceptable.

Please make any suggestions here.

P.S. Highlights from last night: 1) Meeting someone and having them say "you are the one with the annoying cowbell icon?". 2) Trying to explain ethnomethodology while highly intoxicated at 1 am.

I have an odd sort of question.

I live on Russell Road (somerville) however within walking distance is Russell Street (cambridge). I am having a lot of issues with packages being delivered to the wrong address. It more often than not is UPS but there is the occasion that USPS has done this as well. I have two packages that a company is saying they were delivered last Friday. However I was home all day and never received anything which also says it couldnt have been left and then stolen. I know my usual UPS driver and he knows me so he wouldnt deliver it to Russell St but a non-regular route driver might? Any suggestions on what I should do? I tried calling the local UPS office but I couldnt seem to gain headway. This happened a lot last Christmas and UPS was able to recover some of the packages by going to the other home and they were still in the hallway. I dont really feel comfortable going to some random house to talk to the people who live there.

The "Send In The Clowns" ice cream truck just rounded the park at Powderhouse, the first I've heard it this year. Happy Spring, everyone! ;-)

Through our project supporting Transition House, a Cambridge shelter for the victims of domestic violence, we have become aware of an immediate need for three cribs for three newborn babies residing in the shelter with their mothers. If anyone has a crib they no longer need and would like to donate it to a worthy organization, please contact us. We ask that it meets the safety requirements of the Consumer Product Safety Commission which is found on their website: www.cpsc.gov . In addition, there is need for items such as baby blankets, crib sheets, baby towels, bibs, diaper bags, and
snugglies(carriers).

If you wish to make a gift of such items, for which you will receive a tax deductable donation voucher from Transition House, please contact:
