Hi all--

I'm looking for someone to move a piano into my second-floor apartment (whee, lots of stairs!). I haven't found the piano yet 'cause I'm still looking on craigslist (which reminds me that if you have a smallish-upright you want to get rid of without receiving actual money, please leave a comment/message).

Anyway, does anybody out here happen either to be an experienced piano-mover who has the equipment or to have a recommendation of someone very affordable who can handle lots of stairs?

Sadly, I can't afford to hire folks who are strictly piano movers. I'm sure Death Wish and others are great, but way out of my price range. Thanks for those recs, but I can't use them.

Thanks!

The Progressive Democrats of Somerville monthly meeting is tonight, and all are welcome. We'll be meeting at 7pm at the VNA (Visiting Nurses Association), 259 Lowell St., in the 3rd floor community room. The VNA is easily reachable from Davis via bus (88 or 90; get off at Lowell and walk towards Broadway and the Lowell St. Bridge).

This month, we have a full agenda that includes a guest speaker: State Representative Denise Provost. Come and learn about her work on behalf of Somerville up on Beacon Hill.

Free!

We are moving and are looking for a 'good' home for our old TV stand, in a previous life it was a microwave stand. It is:
  • 1.5ft deep, 2.5ft tall 2ft3in wide
  • has wheels
  • has a small shelf and a cabinet at the bottom
We are located near the intersection of Elm and Porter. Please leave a comment if you are interested.

So I've noticed these green boxy trash bins popping up around here but until today I wasn't close to one. It looks like the entire top is a solar panel (hmm... source for solar panels.. ;-) I can't really think why a trash bin would have such a need. Is there a compactor inside? Are these tied into the grid and generating revenue? (doubtful). Can I recharge my iPod off of one?
