Not Davis Square, but I figured this opportunity in Cambridge would be of interest to some : )

I'm debating a move from the Fenway to Somerville to be closer to friends, work, etc. I've gotten really accustomed to living in an apartment building rather than on the second or third floor of a multi-family home. (Various reasons include: I enjoy anonymity, I enjoy an elevator, I enjoy being able to control my heat, etc.)

As far as I can tell, most of the apartment-style buildings I've seen are on major streets above stores or Section 8. Are there any brownstone-ish buildings in more residential areas of Somerville? I'm not so excited about living on Mass Ave.

In accordance with the City’s Snow Emergency Procedures, Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone has declared a snow emergency for the City of Somerville to go into effect at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 10th, 2009. During snow emergencies, parking is allowed on the odd-numbered side of the street only (unless otherwise posted).  Cars not moved by 7 p.m. Saturday will be subject to ticketing and towing.  Beginning at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 10th, residents unable to find a parking space on the odd-numbered side of the street may park in any municipal or school parking lot for the duration of the emergency.  A list of available city lots and other relevant information may be found on the City’s website at www.somervillema.gov

Residents who have not already done so may visit the City’s website to view snow emergency procedures, download the snow procedures brochure or sign up for Connect CTY telephone and email alerts and other time sensitive messages from the City. Residents may also sign up for Connect CTY calls and email by calling 311.

My apologies if you're the one whose lawn chair I ran over (and over) and then parked on, but you shouldn't leave garbage in a public parking spot.

My best friend is looking for someone to help her move a bureau. I looked in the moving tags and gave her the few suggestions I found. She contacted "man with a van" but they're too expensive for just a one item move. They gave her a higher quote then their site says. She contacted the "guy with a truck" Stephan. But his truck is unavailable for the next few days. Does anyone know of anything similar?
She said she looked into a few moving companies around but they were more then "man with a van". Not sure exactly what companies though.
