As many of you know, the Post-Meridian Radio Players will be presenting the Big Broadcast of 1946 on Halloween weekend.

Photos from the run-through on Monday night are now up, just to give you a taste of what's coming up.

Reducing the noise from condensing boiler fans

Now that it's getting colder, I've started noticing something which bugged me last winter: noisy vent fans from condensing boilers.

These boilers are great -- they're super-efficient. But since they remove so much heat from the exhaust gas, it isn't hot enough to make it up a chimney. So it has to be vented out the side of the building, with the help of an exhaust fan.

These fans are very noisy -- they sound like a loud hair dryer. And since they're on the side of the building, the noise is audible inside nearby buildings.

Does anyone know of a way to muffle or reduce the noise, so I can suggest it to my neighbors?

Nov/Dec Shares and Metro PedalPower

I just realized my normal (May-Oct.) CSA /farm-share last-delivery date is next Monday. I have gotten a lot of mileage out of my half-shares over the last several months, and am not looking forward to not having a share after next week. I am now contemplating winter share(s). 

Most farms appear to do a Nov.-Dec. share, and then a Jan.-March or 'deep winter' share.

Suggestions for a (mostly-) organic, local farm share that delivers to the Davis Square area? Any success stories with these types of shares would be most appreciated! 

Yoga at BSC

Anyone have any reviews of the yoga classes at the Boston Sports Club in Davis? I am thinking about joining but wondering if I will be able to get my yoga there.  Specifically, are the classes good for semi-beginners, are they crowded, etc. The yelp reviews are more specific to the gym itself, not the yoga classes. Thanks.
