Is there any local business that offers photo scanning that could provide them to me on CD or USB? I planned to give my stepdaughter a digital picture frame for Christmas with a bunch of preloaded photos from when she was a kid however I did not plan on having my baby a little early (this coming Monday) and am now running short on time. I called a few places but they all said no.

I have a friend coming into town who has requested "fried food" tomorrow night.

This is a very vague challenge, and I am at a loss.

Anyone have any good ideas this side of the river?

I am trying to avoid Redbones because she's been living in Tennessee for like seven years, so I'm thinking she's had her fill of bbq.

Thank you!

Come play with a typewriter, copy-machine, collage, cut ‘n’ paste, and all the “old school” hands-on fun that comes as we explore the possibilities of how to make a zine. A “zine” is a self-published magazine that is totally awesome because you make it yourself! In this workshop with Halley Murray we will all each make our own zine, from layout to publication.

What:  Zine workshop PLUS LUNCH!
Where:   Parts and Crafts, 155 Powder House Blvd  (in the basement of the Clarendon Hill Presbyterian Church)
When:   This weekend!    Saturday, 11-3 p.m.
What to bring:   Scissors, tape, old magazines, your creative brain!
Who:   Kids, adults, and everyone in between

$0-25 suggested donation -- pay what you want, bring who you will, stop by and make something cool!   All are welcome regardless of ability to pay.   Register at http://www.eventbrite.com/event/946080753?ref=ebtn ; (or just show up!)

Who we are:   The Parts and Crafts Collective is a group of thinkers, teachers, and tinkerers in the Boston area who are interested in helping people build, think, create, succeed, fail, and learn. We run hands-on creative arts, science, and engineering programs for kids and adults to help people learn and do and make things.   Details online at www.partsandcrafts.org.

Is everyone in the Davis Sq./Tufts neighborhood going to be on a reality show eventually?

This gentleman lives in the Davis Square area and is appearing on The Food Network’s new reality competition, "Worst Cooks in America."

Will he be as memorable as our own "Beauty & The Geek" champ?

Lorie Reilly has posted four installments of a Somerville Voices series on comics and graphic novels in Somerville.

It turns out, we don't just sell and read them in Somerville, we also (some of us) write and draw them. Take a look!
