Davis Sq Task Force meeting notes for 12/6

The Davis Square Task Force met on Wednesday, December 6, with this agenda. I took some notes, which as always are entirely unofficial and subject to my own bias:

Middlesex Federal Savings has made its sign less bright, with slower-moving text, and more local news. If you'd like to place a notice on the sign, e-mail generalmail@middlesexfederal.com .

Sacco's Bowl-Haven and the Someday Cafe folks are still talking about how to work together; no news to report yet.

Sycamore Street Bridge

... is almost open -- they were laying asphalt this morning.

In fact, because I had to move my car so that the road-construction equipment could get into position, I got to drive over it because it was the only practical way to get out. So I may have been the first "unofficial" vehicle over it. :-)

I don't know if they're going to have a ribbon-cutting ceremony or anything -- I expect I'll just come home one of these days and there won't be any barriers up. (You can already walk across it as of Friday.)

Urban Gourmet update

The plywood on Urban Gourmet's windows has been spray-painted "we will open soon", but it looks like it might be a while. There's been a crew in there doing some work the last few days, but the place has been gutted to the studs.

[ETA: Thanks for the great suggestions, all! For the record, I do have a car so am not limited to places on the T, but prefer to stay local when possible. I know a lot of folks here appreciate the bus info, though.]

Recommendations for professional photographers? I'm looking to get a portrait of my s.o. and I, and I'm hoping to have the finished product in a week and a half. Is this even possible, or have I been putting this off for too long? Ha ha.
