I'm a beginner/intermediate adult learner cellist looking for someone with whom to play music. My tastes run toward the 20th century (jazz, tango, modern) but I'm also happy to play the classics.

I have no preconceived notion of what instrument you should play, but it's easiest to find sheet music if you play violin, cello, or piano.

My ambitions are modest. I'd look to rehearse about once a week, mostly just to play for the fun of it. Open mic performances are an option if we turn out to be good.

To RSVP, reply here or here and we'll figure out next steps.

Can anyone recommend a recording studio where I can record some songs?
What do people think of Q Division in Davis?
I also need a pianist and maybe a cellist. Not nailed down yet. Somewhere local would be preferred. Thanks.

Tufts University Art Gallery is having a reception for the opening of the December MFA Thesis Exhibition and it's open to the public.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 29, 5:30-8:30 pm

I've been to several of these and they are much better than most gallery events because:

A couple of weeks ago someone suggested to me that Somerville should have a city-wide yard sale...everyone should hold a yard sale on the same day. Now the thought is stuck in my head. It would certainly bring some people to the city, boost sales and be fun. It might also help me clear out some room in my basement.

I've been trying to find out if Somerville requires a yard sale permit. I can't seem to find the information online. Also, does anyone else think it would be a good idea to hold this type of event this spring? Is there any interest?

Hello,

Can anyone recommend a good, dependable picture-framing place? I've had terrible luck with Corners (damaged a painting, failed to take responsibility, have been very slow to make repairs) and would prefer to go to a local business anyway. I saw the earlier post referring to the framer in Natick, but I would prefer someplace closer.

Does anyone have a place they can recommend for oil paintings and mounted photographs?

Thanks

Is there a place near buy where one could purchase locally produced milk? I checked the Archives and couldn't find anything.

Has anybody checked out this place on Broadway, across the street from Lyndell's?
