Tonight at around 9:30pm, it seems that somebody was struck by the T in the Davis Square stop. I was in the station at the time it happened and heard the train's horn blaring, but I did not actually see the incident occur with my own eyes so I can't say for sure exactly what went on. A woman behind me on the escalator saw it and advised me "not too look and scare myself", but she indicated that somebody had been hit.

This is all I know about it so I don't want to go around spreading false assumptions about the incident. It has however, really been weighing on my mind so if anybody has any further facts about what happened I would appreciate being filled in. I'm sure there are other Davis residents who are also concerned.

Thanks.

EDIT: All is well in the world! The person is OK! Thanks for filling me in!

Hello all--my Google queries have been fruitless so I'm hoping someone here has a recommendation. My condo association would like to do a reserve fund study. Has anyone here done this that could provide experience or references?

Thanks!

I have an old large painting that has been taken off it's stretchers and rolled up.  I'd like to get it put back on stretchers (is this what they are called? you know, the wooden bits that make a canvas into a painting) but not framed.  I have NO IDEA where to get something like this done.  Help?

N.B. I checked the art tags already.

1) If anybody is driving in to the sale and have room in their vehicles, it might help to carpool. It could simplify things and cut down on traffic/ parking issues that might arise (and is better for the environment).

If you have room and was thinking about driving in, please post your general location in a comment (not exact address of course, but perhaps neighborhood or street). If someone else that is in the hood could get a ride with you that would be awesome. A person could use the LJ message thingie to send a message and then you could coordinate individually. I know some people would like to donate things but are stuck without transportation. You would be doing us all a huge favor!

2) My friend that lives in the Fenway area would like to donate things but is stuck without transportation. They have at least 1 full carload of things to donate. I'm wondering if there is anyone in that area that was planning on attending the sale that was going to drive in and could possibly transport some items? Its a long shot, but its worth a shot.

Sorry for making another post, this hopefully will be the last "logistical" one. I believe we are all set! :)

e-mail from Tom Champion:

I’m going out a limb and predicting that, even if it isn’t still raining cats and dogs at showtime, the ground in Seven Hills Park will be too swampy for comfortable seating.

I am therefore canceling tonight’s SomerMovie fest showing of Bee Movie.

Sorry folks.

My friend Tina lost her dog Cleo at Tufts Field late last night.

Cleo is a two-year-old pit/beagle mix. She's very small, and she has a short, butterscotch-colored coat. Tina had let her off leash before the rain and thunder started, and after a big thunderclap Cleo ran away.

Animal control has been notified, and Tina has put up signs. If any of you see a dog matching this description, please let me know her whereabouts so I can pass the information along.

Thanks!

According to the print edition of yesterday's Somerville News, the owners of the 255 Elm Street building have obtained an entertainment license to reopen the former Jimmy Tingle theatre. The article is not online and does not provide much detail.

The News article says that the owners' names are Robert and Micah Goren, but the sign on the front says GORIN BUILDING.
