Firewood?

Man, I feel like i'm always trying to get rid of something here, lately.

It's spring cleaning in the fall, I guess.

Anyone have interest in a stack of firewood. I don't know the amount, but my hubby guesses it's about 1/8 of a cord. We bought it for a camping trip several years back, and didn't use it all. it's been sitting under our deck (mostly out of the weather) for years now, and is very seasoned. I'd give it to anyone for $20. You just need to be able to transport it (it's more than one wagon full, but could probably fit in a car trunk pretty easily.

Raccoons!

For the past few weeks I've been seeing a gang of four large racoons hanging around at night.  They've gone through our trash twice (annoying, but not alarming) but this morning I saw them in the yard as I was leaving for work around 9:15 am.  Isn't that bad?  I thought racoons were nocturnal and I shouldn't be seeing them that early.  I called animal control, but just got a voice mail and left a message- no callback yet.  The recording said to call the Somerville police if I was having an "animal emergency" but I'm not sure just seeing them rose to that level.  Even if they aren't sick I really don't want them hanging around, but ESPECIALLY not if they ARE sick.  Anybody have any suggestions/advice?  Is it normal to see them in the daylight?

Does anyone know why the T-maps that are on the walls of T-stations (At least Davis, Porter and Harvard) are all covered with white plastic? Likewise, at least the cars I was in yesterday had no full maps on the walls.

Are they preparing to replace the maps with one that includes the hypothetical green-line expansion?

As some may be aware, cyclists on the sidewalk annoy the hell out of me, but I've noticed as bike lanes are put in, that drops to pretty much zero (unless the cyclist in question is some guy on a BMX three sizes too small for him that he pedals at walking speed, for some reason).

Anyway, as people who block bike lanes also inevitably block bus stops and curb cuts, I heartily approve of this site and plan to make use of it if I see a violation.

This is a followup to a post I made a while ago asking what happened to Cambridge Lock and Security:

http://davis-square.livejournal.com/2442328.html

I again needed a locksmith, and this time I called Sir Locksalot, explained my situation, and he informed me that Tom (the owner of Cambridge Lock) closed their physical store on Broadway, but was still in business. He told me he could do what I needed no problem, but gave me the current number for Cambridge Lock so he wasn't taking business away from a friend of his.

So, since Sir Locksalot was such a stand-up guy, I figured he deserved a plug:

Sir Locksalot: 781-391-5801

And the updated number for Cambridge Lock: 617-504-5625
