I voted! Ok, enough about me. I just wanted to let everyone know that if there are any physical obstructions to your polling place, speak up to the police officer(s) assigned to your polling place. For example, there was a huge construction truck and trailer blocking 3/4 of the road leading up to the Ward 7 Precinct 1 polling place. We spoke up and the police officer got the truck moved. Just in time -- because as I was driving up, people were pulling aggravated u-turns and not voting.
If your polling place is inaccessible -- SAY SOMETHING.1
1Said with full realization that most polling places are already inaccessible in a number of ways. For example, blind voters who would like to cast secret ballots as is guaranteed by law but not provided for in reality.
Edited to add: The Disability Law Center is encouraging folks having problems accessing the polls/voting to call them today, so they can help put the smack down. They are open (today only) from 7 am until 8 pm. Call (800) 872-9992 (voice) or (800) 381-0577 (TTY). -- Thanks to
tikva for the info. Remember, you need not be disabled to report a lack of accessibility at your polling place!

Burglary on Wallace Street - edited

One of my neighbors on Wallace Street just shared this incident with me. It happened a few hours ago at the Holland Street end of Wallace Street. She is very upset because the burglar stole some jewelry that had been in the family for many, many years. She is very fortunate to be safe given that she surprised him in the house.
Please keep and eye out and report anything to the police.

This is what she wrote:
At 11:15 am, Tuesday I found a tall black man, wearing a black down jacket
in our upstairs bedroom. I am not hurt (but very shaken up as you can
imagine). He ran out the back door.
Please keep aware of anyone lurking in backyards or acting suspiciously. We might also want to be aware that when a person rings the door and asks for someone who doesn't live there (or some other random question), they may be looking for unoccupied residences to buglarize. Detective John Oliveria was the officer that come to the house. Call 617-625-1600.

Davis is packed with young people, who tend to give themselves sports injuries and need physical therapy. So where are all the physical therapists? Harvard-Vanguard's PT unit can't see me for almost three weeks. (Who knows they they need physical therapy three weeks ahead of time?) The one I turned up by Googling (Lazarus Felice PT), according to the person who answered the phone "doesn't do conventional physical therapy" and also doesn't take my insurance; the one at 323 Broadway (according to the current LocalTel Yellow Pages), is actually now in Burlington, according to the guy on the phone. And the next nearest place I've found is in top of Winter Hill. Am I missing some secret hidden building full of physical therapists?
Bowling in Ball square

Does anyone know that the story is with the bowling alley in Ball square? Is it open to the public? Is a private function hall sort of place? With Sacco's closing in April, I'm especially interested in learning more about this place. I once tried to go there but the people bowling there at that time said something about it being private? Maybe it was a league night? (I can't recall exactly what they said- it was a few years ago) Anyway, I thought there might be someone with some knowledge of this place lurking in this group.

Hi - I voted at Dilboy and they asked me who I was going to vote for (in order, I guess to give me a red or blue ballot). I was a bit taken aback since I can't recall ever having been asked before. The people at the desk said they didn't know why they were asking- they just asked and marked down my response. (the blue pill). There was no independent option.
Anyone know what is up with this? A primary thing?

I would so love to stop getting those ad fliers from the Globe Direct delivered to my house every week (you know, the ones with the weekly shaw's and michael's ads) but I can't find any info online about how to stop it. Every time i see it now i just picture all the copies of it that end up in the trash. Has anyone had success in getting off their mailing list?

Hello....I am looking to get a tattoo in near future. My tattoo knowledge consists of a drunken trip to Hapmton Beach, NH before tats were legal in Mass. I already have a sketch of the tattoo I would like. Does anyone have a good recomendation (good as in personal experience) for a (resonably priced) tattoo artist that will tattoo someone else's art on my body? I am aware that most artists will want to charge by the hour for that type of thing...
Thanks in advance for any help =)

Also, did anybody else have a _lot_ of trouble getting the machine to accept their ballot?
