So, as has already been mentioned, JP Licks is giving away free ice cream today. I propose that people meet up at JP Licks in Davis Square at like 7:30 today for an impromptu meet-up.

For those who aren't convenient to Davis Square, you can organize your own meet-ups. (in comments here, if you want)

Hi All,

I just got 100 Loratadine (aka Claritin) for my allergies at Harvard Vanguard Pharmacy for $8.00. I learned that the over the counter medicine there is for sale to anyone and its at crazy low prices. A bottle of cough syrup is something like $1.24. I go in for my yearly bout of allergies and always forget that they are there the rest of the year.

I talked to a few friends and they also didn't know the pharmacy even existed. 100 generic claritin at CVS/RiteAid etc would be 30-40 dollars. So if you are ever in Davis and need over the counter meds, cough drops etc. Check out the Harvard Vanguard Pharmacy on Holland St 2nd floor in the brick building attached to Au Bon Pain. You can save a ton of green in these trying economic times.

In an attempt to preclude the otherwise-inevitable OMG-WHAT-WAS-THAT-NOISE posts later this afternoon, I'd like to remind everyone that the Green Mountain Boys of the 158th Fighter Wing will once again be doing a flyover to mark opening day at Fenway Park. (I remember the first time I was directly under one of those -- we had no idea what was going on and thought a bomb was about to blow or something. If you know what it is, it's just kinda cool, though.)

But if the sky really does fall, I will be deeply embarrassed.

Go Sox!

I caught this story today on the Somerville News site and thought this LJ comm might be interested in supporting a community garden in Somerville -- it's not in Davis proper, but man, it's a great resource to the residents at the Mystic projects and they could use some volunteer help in addition to financial support for the fencing they need.

Please ignore the crappy posts and comments on the Snews site.  There is a bunch of hate going on over there, as usual.  Thank you for your consideration.

I just noticed that Somerville's 2008 Environmental Services Guide - with the yard waste collection calendar, hazardous waste collection dates (for your CFLs!), and information on discounted composters and rain barrels - is now on line:

http://www.somervillema.gov/CoS_Content/documents/EnvironmentalGuide2008.pdf

I think they'll mail a copy, but I always lose that, so I depend on this electronic version through the year.

I need a location for a film shoot happening THIS WEEKEND.

We're looking for a room that could pass for a lobby in a dormitory or apartment building. Something that looks a little old-fashioned and rough around the edges would do the job. At this point, however, I'll content myself with almost anything that could pass for an apartment lobby.

Expandlogistical details )

Here's the catch: due to cast availability, we have to shoot this weekend. One of my cast members is going on a trip starting next weekend, and another cast member is leaving town as soon as the first returns.

I have some calls in to a few local hostels and to some friends with connections on college campuses, but I'm stuck right now. Does anyone know of something I might not have thought of?
