In celebration of the Celtics win, if you walk into Boloco tomorrow with two friends, you can buy all three burritos for $10.

Our next [livejournal.com profile] davis_square meet-up is at the Burren next Wednesday, June 25th at 7pm in the "back room".

If you know about the buttons, you can have one. If you don't know what I'm talking about, never mind. ;)

Instead of having a "maybe" category, I'm just going to have this one a yes/no. If you are unsure yet, please vote when you think you are sure as that will make it easier to actually try to figure out how many people are there.

Remember, this is a special trivia night/ meet-up event. The Burren has trivia now on Wednesdays starting at 8pm, but next week they are going to delay trivia till 9pm because they like us. So we will have two hours to drink and be merry and then we can form teams and play trivia.

As usual, they will provide free goodies for us and I'll bring name tags.

P.S., Its also 3 days before my birthday. I'd like a rolex or a new car.

I couldn't think of a better subject, so this is all you get.

I want to do something about my anxiety and negative thinking, and since nothing else seems to be helping, I thought I'd try going the route of "alternative medicine." I've tried a lot of it in the past, ususally unsuccessfully. I didn't have shady practitioners, they were just kind of flaky and not good matches for my really analytical mind. I had reiki with Joanna Scaparotti, who's on here, and she's fantastic, but I'm hoping to find someone who can help me work through things on my own. Perhaps someone who's a good meditation teacher or something like that would be a good fit. I'm not quite sure how to approach this.

I know what I don't want, though. My cranky skeptical side cuts in and says no to anyone who regularly recommends Bach's Rescue Remedy, no to anyone performing resonance repatterning, no to anyone who is a life coach (or anything else really vague), no to sand art therapy, no to anyone who tries to get me to ditch my prescription meds, no to anyone who will link my present problems to my past life and/or conception, no to anyone who recommends drinking my own urine, no to anyone who plays Norah Jones as meditation music, and no excessive use of crystals.

I've had all those things happen. Oh, and I don't like massages. They make me nervous.

Now, with all of that, does anyone have any recommendations to offer? :)

Hey everyone,

I tried searching the board, but I'm not sure this has been posted about before, so...

Does anyone know of any good reiki teachers?  I am interested in learning how to do reiki, so I would need someone who is able to teach reiki, not just give reiki sessions to others.

I live in Davis, so the Camberville area is best- but I don't think there are all that many reiki masters around, so anywhere in the Boston area is good with me.

Thanks for the suggestions!

I noticed that the Davis Square Store 24's signs were taken down this morning and replaced with new Tedeschi Food Shop signage. Anyone know if this is just a token name change (since it's the same company) or if the Tedeschi stores are different than Store 24s?

Also noted: the long-defunct KFC on Mass Ave near the Square has posted menus for their new tenant, Banjos. Looks like their MO is to buy old KFCs and Burger Kings and convert them into Banjos restaurants, serving roast beef, fried seafood, and deli sandwiches. Here's an article about the one in Quincy.

Hello-
I'm trying to start saving some money in a bank other than my "primary bank" (Sovereign-not leaving, I'm too roped in).

Something is appealing to me about Central Bank. Any opinions or helpful things I should know? I've searched the old tags, and see a lot of feedback about Wainwright (mostly positive), but would like to find out more about Central if possible. Yelp had one review - 5 stars.

Thank you!

Question for the homeowners/landlords out there.....what kind of changes have you seen in the last year as far as:

-Property Taxes?
-Water Bills?
-Homeowners Insurance?

Have these skyrocketed over the last year? Inquiring minds want to know.
