It's been a while since any Living Social deals were offered up in Davis, but Lyndell's for 50% off is back (sort of; last time it was $10 for $20).

It's an ideal time to be offering it, in my opinion; I don't know about anyone else, but I have parties almost every friday and saturday night in the next month, as well as a couple sunday afternoons and a Tuesday ;-) While I'm totally into making treats and things for potlucks, there just isn't that much time for me. And people do seem to like it when I show up with a couple things of their cookies ;-)

To update the prior discussion on the subject, according to their web site, Vej Naturals will be moving to the currently-Joey's-Thai (and formerly a number of other places) at 195 Elm St. No opening date is set yet, but we can hope it's soon!

You can also follow them on Facebook.

Once they are open, I will call for a meet-up or two to check out the new digs because I already know the people and food are awesome.

[So what should the difference be between the "dining" and "restaurants" tags here?]

Tonight is Midnight Madness in Davis Square, and I am super excited.

I called the participating stores to get an idea of the sales they're offering. THESE SALES ARE NOT OFFICIAL AND ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE!

Sales seem MUCH better this year than they did last year.

See you out there tonight!!!

Hello, first posting here so please be kind...
Am I the only occasional driver who has been caught in the ticket-trap that is at Elm/Bowers Ave corner? It's right in front of the bank next to Goodwill. On the very rainy Monday we just had I parked at the corner to run in two bags of Goodwill items. Two minutes later I was slapped with a $100 FEE ticket for parking in a Fire Zone.

The zone is marked only with a sign, not a red curb, and I mistook the sign as a simple No parking from here to corner sign. I can't afford a $100 ticket and will contest it in the public hearing. Has anyone else done this successfully, and if so, how? Should I take pictures of the signage and e-mail them to the city for instance, or just bring them to the hearing?

Thanks for any help or insights, -Sunny

I have a number of storm window sashes that need repairing - a couple have broken glass or frames, a couple need the springs in the catches replaced. I know these are indicators that I should just replace the whole storm unit, but I don't have the money for that.

Any recommendations for an inexpensive place that will repair these sashes?

Thanks.

...pastured local chickens? (our awesome Chestnut Farm share gives us some, but we want more)

...battery-powered Christmas lights?
