I work for a national food magazine based in Massachusetts. Several of our writers live in the area, and we're looking for a small satellite office or office share in the Davis/Porter zone.

Because we'll be working on creative projects, we're looking for a funky workspace with creative people.  The rent's got to be cheap ($200-400), but we will share any food/booze samples that come through.

You can drop me a line at englishw at me dot com with questions or offers.

Thanks!

Boyfriend and I both have Wednesday off next week and I was hoping to have some awesome breakfast/brunch on a day when I wouldn't have to wait for a table! Where would you recommend? We live in Arlington and are open to anywhere in Arlington, Somerville and Cambridge.

Thanks!

Last night, going to bed around midnight, we smelled smoke—like wood or paper burning smoke—up around Powder House and Packard. It was almost pleasant; it smelled like camping. But by 5am, the smell was so strong we woke up coughing and sneezing, put handkerchiefs over our noses and mouths, and closed the windows, making it hot and stuffy inside, but at least not too noxious to fall back to sleep.

Did anyone else experience this?

In fact we smell light smoke around bedtime in that area not infrequently. Does someone burn their rubbish in that area? (And if it's you, could you please, pretty-pretty-please, stop?) I sorta suspect that home-rubbish-incineration is illegal for exactly this reason.

Anyway, last night's was particularly terrible, and I'm wondering if maybe there was an actual house-fire this time in the area. Anyone know anything?

Hi All,

I just wanted to let you all know that we've got a new session of our Outdoor Challenge classes starting down at Dilboy Field the week after the 4th of July, and I'd love to see even more new faces! We just did our 1 mile run this morning and most if not all of my students have improved their times by over a minute using strength and metabolic conditioning over the last 2.5 months. This is a great way to improve your running without running all the time! You can read about our awesome morning here.

Hi all,

I am trying to sell two very popular groupons which I unfortunately can no longer use.

1)  A beautiful two-plus hour cruise on Boston Harbor for two, in a 32-foot sailboat. Can be used for afternoon, sunset, or moonlight cruises.

$99

2) Introductory helicopter lesson -- you get to fly the helicopter!

$69

Please respond to the post if interested.

Thanks!

the farmer's market at Dewey Square (south station) accepts EBT cards and some WIC things, when appropriate. In addition to accepting the cards, they match your money, up to $10 a day, so you can get $20 of food for $10 at the market when you're on assistance. You go to the market manager, and they swipe your card and present you with coupons, worth $1 or $5 for use in the market.

I want to recommend this program to a friend of mine, and I was wondering if anyone knows if the market manager at Davis Square is set up to do these transactions, and second, if they are able to do the money matching.

My source for Blue Lizard sunblock is apparently no longer carrying it and I'm going to be out before the internet can get me suitably hooked up.  Any other stores in the area stock the stuff?
